Trying New Tasks is Worth it Entry #10

Image
Think about what you spend your money on daily, weekly, or a task that's a slight inconvenience but you do anyways, because you love to. Have you ever thought about what could save you that money spent every day, or what could make those tasks easier? I have the solution, DIY, which stands for "do it yourself".      To put this idea into perspective I'm going to give a couple well known examples. I recently purchased a Nespresso machine to make my coffee at home, because I was tired of spending 5 plus dollars on a cup of coffee. I chose this machine because it's supposed to also make espresso shots which I love. I love buying all sorts of drinks depending on my mood from Carmel Macchiatos and Lattes to black coffees with only sugar. I first started off clueless because I was not sure how to make these special drinks.       Yum look at that coffee! So, I got to learning how to make these at home for less money. Now, these drinks do not taste exactly like they do w

A picture Can Say a Lot Entry #9

Image
I stumbled across this picture and have quite to say about it. I first would like to say I am not a vegetarian but am also not against it at all! I think this picture has great meaning and the way they chose to picture this says a lot.      Most people do not think about where their food come from, because they either don't care or it grossest them out. But why does it gross people out? Maybe because it comes from animals who are held in captivity and then cut open for humans to eat. It bothers lots of people because it's a sensitive topic and not the lightest thought. By using a pig holding a gun in this picture, it gives the pig power, something a pig never gets these days. Thousands of pigs are abused and killed daily, just for humans to eat and it's a sad way of life, but it's normal.       This ad wants to persuade their audience into becoming vegetarian, by sharing why it's "healthier" for you. Of course, one of the other main reasons is the b

Christmas is Still Fun! Entry #8

Image
As Christmas is right around the corner all I can think about is, wait Christmas is in 20 days! I am still considered very young as I am only 19, but I somehow feel so old. I remember stressing in November that I still haven’t made a Christmas list and constantly thinking about all the goodies we were going to make when Christmas came. Christmas was genuinely so exciting and was my favorite time of the year. Don’t get me wrong, Christmas is still the most beautiful time of the year, and definitely one of my favorites, but after sophomore year of high school, it has gotten less “exciting” for me.       Every single year I have found it harder to think of things I want for Christmas and a want to participate in Christmas activities. Not because I don’t want to, but because I don’t feel like I have time anymore, as I’m focusing on school and work. Out of all 5 of us kids only 2 are still under the age of 18 and are close to being adults. As we grow it’s normal to not want to do the

Fresh, the Unfortunate Truth

Image
After watching the first 10 minutes of the film "Freh" I already felt uncomfortable. I spend my days feeding the stray cats, and throwing treats to the local pigeons, so watching people just throw chicks on the floor batch by batch like its nothing made me kind of upset. This film has opened my eyes to what really happens in industrial farms, and it's not okay. I can get over the reason these animals are here because the world isn't just going to give up meat, but why do these conditions have to be so bad?        Parts of the movie that stood out to me most were, of course the showings of the animals being in such close confinement and introducing the farmers who do care about how they treat their animals. The film introduces a man named Joel Salatin who takes care of his farm animals in a better way. He does not feed his cows dead cows like industrial farming, and lets his animals roam free. He even sates that his chickens aren't there just too lay eggs but help

Movies, Tv, music, Whatever

Image
Entry #6       How much tv do you watch in a day? Or how about how much music do you listen to daily? Before you say, oh she's about to rant on how we should watch less tv, no. I'm simply just curious for my own thoughts haha. I sometimes think I have an addiction to tv, specifically Netflix or Hulu, I watch it almost every chance I get. Now, if I have some homework to get done or I'm trying to accomplish something, obviously I'm not going to distract myself with it. However, when I am cleaning my room or I have nothing to get done, you guessed it, I will be watching another forensic files episode, or listen to miss Rory Gilmore tell her mom about her first kiss.                                                Now, every time I get into my car, what am I listening to? Somedays I want to listen to my normal playlists, and somedays I will literally just listen to Netflix. The only shows I listen to in my car are shows I've already watched, since I don't need to pa

Blind Spot Mayhem

Image
Have you ever been driving and all of a sudden you have to slam on your breaks because the person beside you can't look to get over to save their life? Happens to me all the time, especially here in Arizona these drivers are crazyyyy.        I wish I was exaggerating when I say I almost get into an accident almost everyday, even on my 10 minute car rides to work. A lot of people do not think about how good their insurance is, because they don't think about getting into accidents often. If you ever have seen the Allstate insurance ads then you should be familiar with specifically the Mayhem ads, and how effective they can be.       In this blind spot ad specifically it starts off with Mayhem on the side of a moving car stating "I'm your blind spot", "My job is easy, I block big things." By starting off with this dialogue, He is referring to the blind spot you have while driving and how common it is to get into an accident this way. The ad adds humor by s

Special bonds, Special pets

Image
Entry #4 Sitting down thinking about what thoughts I want to share, then I look down at my dog while he's all comfy in his bed I made for him, and it hit me. I see people post about their pets they love daily and pretty pictures they take of their little guys, but why do we do this❓     I am forever guilty of this, for example anytime my leopard gecko is looking at me funny or my dogs are cuddling up to me, I want to instantly share it with my friends. I think people can share great bonds with their pets, as they can be a comfort animal, or even just fun to have around. Not everyone is a pet person, but there are a lot of people who connect with their animals, and it's all about passion for animals. Of course some people can just strictly be a dog or cat person, but for the people who love any type of animal, tend to find them more comforting. Taking care of a dog can be tiring especially as a puppy, but when you're building a bond with them, it tends to feel less like wor
